What is Kombai?
Kombai is a frontend AI agent that runs inside VS Code or Cursor. It connects three things that are usually separate: your design files, your codebase, and your running browser. Generate code from a Figma file, watch it run in the browser, fix issues autonomously — all in one loop.
How it works
The key mechanic is the browser-in-the-loop. Most design-to-code tools generate code and stop. Kombai generates code, runs it, inspects the actual rendered output using browser DevTools (computed styles, console logs, network requests), and iterates on its own work. You can also click directly on the live preview to make edits, which propagate back to code.
It also builds a Context Graph of your codebase — a semantic index of your existing components, hooks, design tokens, and patterns — so it reuses what you already have rather than recreating it from scratch.
What makes it different
The main distinction from tools like Anima or Locofy is depth of integration. Anima converts Figma designs to code in one pass. Kombai lives in your repo, understands your stack, sees what it actually built, and fixes it. It's closer to a junior frontend engineer than a code exporter.
Pricing
Freemium. Free tier includes 300 credits/month. Pro is $20/month (2,000 credits). Enterprise is custom.
